Tooble - A Review of a Free YouTube Downloader For Mac
Tooble is a YouTube video downloader that takes advantage of Google's gData API. In addition, it provides a streamlined interface and search tools. Ultimately, it's a good choice for Mac users looking to save videos.
The free version allows you to search for YouTube videos and download them. It also converts downloaded videos to MP4 format. You can even sync your videos with your iPod or Apple TV.
There are some drawbacks with Tooble. First, the results page isn't as comprehensive as YouTube. Second, it can take a while for the results to load. And, although it's free, it doesn't store a log of all the videos you've downloaded.
Another minor downside is that there's no user tutorial for the Mac version. We found that Tooble for Mac didn't download a few of our test videos. However, the app generally played back videos correctly.
Tooble for Mac requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later. Although the app doesn't have much customization, it does support downloading multiple videos at a time.
If you are a YouTube fan, you'll want to give Tooble a try. While the program is still relatively new, it's a great option for video enthusiasts.
Tooble uses the gData API to allow for automatic video conversion. It can send videos directly to iTunes, sync them with your iPod, or save them in an optimized iPod Video format.
The main menu is a little cluttered, but it does include a search bar. The side menu gives you access to different YouTube sections.
